What this site collects

Short version: analytics only if you allow it, and whatever you type into an enquiry form so we can answer it. Nothing else.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages get read. It sets cookies in your browser and sends data to Google, including a truncated IP address, the pages you view and rough location.

We also advertise on Google Search. If you send an enquiry, the same Google script reports to our Google Ads accounts that an enquiry happened, so we can tell which searches are worth paying for. Google’s enhanced conversions feature is on, which means the contact details you typed can be sent with it as a one-way hash for matching. Your message is never sent. If you decline analytics, none of this runs.

We also load Google Tag Manager, which is how those measurement tags are configured without changing the site’s code. It runs only alongside the above and only after you allow analytics; it is not a separate permission and it collects nothing on its own.

None of it loads unless you press Allow. Until then no Google script is fetched, no cookie is written and no request is made. If you decline, that choice is stored in your browser and we do not ask again.

Your current choice: not set yet

Declining stops future collection. To remove data already sent, email info@kumarakomhouseboats.com and we will raise a deletion request with Google.

Enquiries and bookings

  • When you send a booking request or a message, it is transmitted to our booking system and stored there. We record your name, phone number, email if you give one, the dates and party size you asked about, the price you were quoted, and anything you write in the notes.
  • That data is held on servers in India (Mumbai, ap-south-1) and is backed up, also within India. It is not sold, and it is not shared with anyone beyond the people who answer your enquiry and the payment provider if you go on to pay a deposit.
  • If the booking system cannot be reached, the form tells you plainly that nothing was saved and offers the WhatsApp or email handoff instead. It never shows a confirmation for something that was not stored.
  • We hold it for as long as it takes to answer you and, if you travel with us, for the statutory period we must keep booking records — seven years for tax purposes. Enquiries that never become bookings are deleted after two years.
  • We message you about your own booking. Anything beyond that is opt-in: the checkbox on the booking form is unticked by default, and leaving it that way does not affect your booking in any way.
  • You can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email info@kumarakomhouseboats.com and we will respond within thirty days, as the Digital Personal Data Protection Act requires. Deletion may be refused only where we are legally required to keep a booking record.
  • We do not sell or share it. It goes to the booking desk and the crew on your boat, and no further.
  • No payment details are ever taken on this website. There is no payment form here. The advance is arranged directly with the desk after we confirm your boat.

Third parties

  • OpenStreetMap serves the map on the contact page. Loading it reveals your IP address to them; it sets no advertising cookies.
  • Typefaces are served from this site, not from Google Fonts, so loading a page reveals nothing to a font host.
  • WhatsApp and Google Maps links take you to those services, where their own privacy terms apply. Photographs are served from this site, not from a third party.
